MS Gas mileage.

Ever fill up and not drive like a maniac to see how good of gas milage you can get? I just did 300 miles on 15 gal. In a 82 gsl =20 miles a gallon. Thought that was pretty good.

Once, when I just finished building the engine in my red car. Got about 22 or so on the highway with the turbo nikki.

That's all fun but I normally floor it everywhere and get 10-15mpg. I don't really take accurate readings or really care about millage; I just like the grins per mile.

I have had two occasions where I was doing a lot of highway driving. trip 1 was from Little rock to OKC. On this trip, I drove 75-80 mph the whole way and averaged 28 mpg. The car at the time had around 83k miles on it with a Racing beat short header and was running nonethanol. The second trip was from little rock to Fayetteville and back. This also included driving down what is known as the pig trail on the way to Fayetteville and some driving around in Fayetteville. Somehow throughout this trip, I averaged around 26 mpg. 25 mpg on the way to and 27 on the way back. These cars are capable of good gas mileage, they just have to be driven on long trips to do so in my experience. My normal driving averages from 18-22 mpg. I rarely see less than 16 mpg except when I get stuck in traffic on the way to work.

I can push/pass 30mpg on a round trip Chino Hills CA to Las Vegas. Totally stock build excepting RB muffler. Holding 85mph the whole way.
Average mixed driving I usually see 20mpg.

My '79GS got 29 mpg on 1 trip that i held the speed under 60mph. Oh the agony! I kept meticulous
records for the first 100,000 miles and averaged 21.5 mpg. My '95 averaged around 18.
