Its a very nice car overall and I've always loved Daytona Blue cars. I think it would be a great car to own!

It's interesting that my car has an earlier VIN, but a later build date. Mine in 6/78, this car shows 5/78.

I've heard of this situation before. The starting S/N for May mfg is 504977 while the starting S/N for Jun is 508587. The car in the ad has a S/N of 505445, so it slips into the month of May's mfg as it should. What is your S/N?

S/N's were stamped before painting and with no regard as to when the car was completed. Could be it was delayed along the line somewhere or set aside for a quality control deficiency and was actually completed later, out of numerical sequence. The door tag most likely would have been applied near the end of the line of after the car came off and passed its final inspections.

I just realized I had my S/N mixed up. I thought it was 504911, but I just checked and it's 509411. So everything checks out.
