Friend crossed battery on my sa22c
Hi my friend crossed my battery terminals on my new to me SA22c and I have not owned the car long enough to know where to look. Car cranked fine before now it immediately blows a glass fuse under the steering wheel all the time. I replaced the fusible links near the strut tower I guess just looking for any other advice on what to replace to get the car cranking again.
Disconnect the battery then take a multimeter and check each leg of that fuse holder to ground. The side that has zero ohms has a short. The next task is to physically check the wiring for that leg, Look for burnt wiring.
As stated above, the wiring must be checked as what likely occurred is that wiring was melted together and is creating a short. When a short is present, you will blow the fuse related to that circuit. Which fuse is blowing and is your car a 79 or 80? I have the original wiring fiagrams and I can help by looking at the circuit that the fuse feeds power to and give you an idea of where to look.
