Great video. I love how you plugged Dennis and Billy.
This made me think you may want invest in one of these. http://www.goprocamera.com/
Camera that comes with suction cup and 3M tape mounts for the car. Works very well and takes nice video. Pretty cheap as well. If you shop around for them some places have free shipping and some include a 2GB memory card with it. I got one for christmas and tested it out on the Sunfire. Will be bringing it to Deals Gap this year to really put it through its paces. Hopefully I'll get out to an autocross or two and get some video there as well. Keep up the great driving.

Yeah, I've been eyeing those for a while now. I've sort of been thinking of giving up on the videos though. It just takes so much time, but in editing and on race day. It can be pretty distracting, especially now that I'm trying to get a little more serious about the racing part of it. I've still got hours and hours of video that I'll probably never do anything with due to time constraints.
However, my 15 year old step son has shown both a talent and an interest in shooting videos, so I may just hand it all over to him and see how he does. We'll have to see how things go this year.
By the way, I might actually make it down for Deals Gap this year! I can't believe it, but the wife is actually going for the whole idea. Wierd!

Awesome video Kentetsu. As it looks now, i'm moving back downstate in May, so i'll be out at auto-x's this summer. Can't make Deal's Gap because of school and being unemployed, but looking forward to seeing this thing run in person. I still need a ride during one event so I can feel how well the Sterling works.

Sterling: I bought the carb used from a forum member (Lovintha7). First thing I did was install it with the phelonic spacer upside down. So I email Sterling, and he was very patient with me and helped me out, even though this was not a direct sale. He guessed what was wrong on the second try. Later, he sent me complete instructions on how to tune the carb for my car, and has been very helpful in any way possible, even though he's never received a single penny from me. Now that is great customer service!
Respeed: I wanted to do better at autocross, but didn't know where to start. When I first talked with Billy, I didn't even really understand what coilovers were. He walked me through everything step by step, and made recommendations based upon what I wanted to do with the car. I can only say that he nailed it spot on with his first attempt. Plus, do you see Racing Beat or Gforce involved in the forums? Billy listens to us, answers questions, and creates new products based upon our requests. Plus, Respeed products are works of art. You can't beat that with a stick.
Racing Beat: Well, I sent them $950.00 for an exhaust system and after two weeks it still hadn't shown up. So I emailed them, and a few days later they emailed me back saying that they had found my order on the shipping dock and it had never gone out. No apology, just an explanation. 11 days later it finally showed up (that's almost a month!). When I went to install it, we found that one of the bolts had been installed crooked and stripped the threads, so I had to repair that. I sent them an email with pictures and never got a response.
Racing Beat part II: Ordered their front swaybar. It came with the decal installed upside down. Not a big deal unless you use that as a reference for how to install it. What should have been a simple installation took more than twice as long as it should have due to a stupid decal and lack of attention to detail on their part. Emailed them on this, and they replied that they had had other complaints and would look into it. Two years later I still hear of others that have run into this.
Diamond Racing Wheels: I sent them my order, and waited patiently for my wheels to show up. After three weeks and two emails, I get a response saying that they lost my order. By then, my wife had "reappropriated" the funds I had set aside for the wheels, so I had to call it quits on the whole idea. I never received an apology from them or anything more than a simple explanation. The only reason I'm using their wheels now is because I got an awesome deal on a used set. I mentioned them in the video (like I did Racing Beat) simply because somebody was bound to ask what kind they were.
What is the purpose of a forum, if not to exchange knowledge and experiences? We pass on our experiences so that others don't have to learn everything the hard way. Those that treat me right get recommendations from me. Those that don't, just get a mention...

By the way, what do you guys think of the music? Not bad for a two-piece, eh? They're friends of mine.
I was hesitant to add any music, but I kept the volume down and I don't think it detracts from the sound of exhaust or anything. Should I do that again in the future, or ditch the music?

Oh, I forgot to ask, what are you using to edit your videos? I need something that I can figure out easily on my own. I don't have a ton of spare time so the learning curve needs to be pretty shallow.

Yep, windows movie maker ftw. This is the first one I did on the new computer, which has Vista on it. Not sure if there were any differences between that and Windows XP though. Its a pretty nice program that nobody pays any attention to....
BTW, I just got word from the wife. She's got us a cabin reserved for the Deals Gap Rotary Rally!!! It'll be a long trip in the 7 all the way from Michigan to North Carolina, but I'm geeked as hell. This will be my first time attending, and it sure sounds like a blast!

It's not too bad of a drive. I think your only a little bit furthur than I am, and at least you can soften up your dampers. Luckily the southern highways are quite a bit smoother than Michigan freeways. You should join up with the Canadian convoy. We are leaving on the 16th and crossing in Detroit and running the 75 down to Cincinatti for the night and carrying on in the morning. Here's the thread from the Canadian section of the forum https://www.rx7club.com/canadian-forum-42/dgrr-2009-a-761411/ The more the merrier and it would be nice to have another FB in the group.

That could actually work out. We're also planning on leaving on the 16th.
The wife just told me she wants me to buy her a used Lexus SUV we saw last week, and trailer the car down there (she treats my baby like its "the other woman" and doesn't really want to travel in it).
I just can't decide if I want to spoil her that much....

Thanks man! I'm finally starting to get the hang of WMM. I've got hours and hours of video waiting to be processed, just never enough time to do it.
I think the next one I do will include all of the footage of different RX7s autocrossing, but it will probably be an hour long...

Awesome videos. I'm glad you're still around these parts as well. On the rare occasion I come back to the first gen section, I'm really glad to see that some of the people who were around when I was active in this section are still around as well, and not just around, but wow your car has come a long way.
