Is the car really loose under braking or did you lockup the rears somehow?

Yikes, scary moment for you I suppose! Looks like no damage was done and you just gotta learn from the mistakes and get better over time!

Looked really loose, even on the straight section of the track.. Have you checked all your bushings?

Also the camera angle was really good, and wide. What camera was used?

Almost looked like too much rear break bias the way your car got so loose just before the spin. But hard to say really. I would also check the bushings if i were you.

I'm going to get to take my 79 out of the track in a little over a week here. Hopefully the same doesnt happen to me. Its not a real fast track that i am going to though so it should be fairly fun in a mostly stock 1st gen.

I'm glad the small road course nearest me (Harris Hill Road) has nothing to hit.

Last time I spun out was from being abrupt with the pedals, popped off the gas and on the brakes hard. That unloaded the rear and either my steering or anything in the road took it off course. Even though our cars have around 50/50 weight distribution, they're light overall so any weight shift will have big effect; not to mention the ancient suspension design.

Thats what you'll get trying to drive the dry line in the wet, came in too hot and locked up the rear. Even in the dry I was still having problems locking up the rears - Since then I've swapped out the HP Pluses back there for some pads with less bite.

I only got worried when I saw my friend's $75K Supra bearing down on me...
