First Gen Rx-7 article in SPORTS CAR MARKET Magazine - "Affordable Classic"
"Affordable Classic" Mazda Rx-7
Keith Martin's Sports Car Market magazine which touts itself as "The Insider's Guide to Collecting, Investing, Values and Trends" had in the July (Vol.20 #7) issue a 2-page feature on the first generation Rx-7.
Rx7Club.com is listed on Page 2 in the details box.

Thx Dave. I didn't care for some of the tone or takes author Rob Sass chose to reflect upon. I do think the Rx-7 is a second tier japanese collectible behind only the 200GT and the Cosmos.

Your Arch Enemy
Get 'em while they are cheap and available because once Mazda comes out with a new RX-7 in two years (Road & Track, June 2008) our cars will only gain in value.

I have seen several articles pointing to a next generation Mazda Rx-7. They feed my dreams.
Hey CrazyDBag! PLEASE do scan that article you mentioned if you can find it. Would appreciate seeing it and any others that are similar out there.

That's what I'm talkin' about!
WAY TO GO STU! Leave it to you to so eloquently state in response to Mr. Sass' write-up the aspects of the article that just didn't sit well with me. While it's great to see the Rx-7 included in any modern magazine, TV show, movie etc. After reading it I felt the article failed to relate the enduring and endearing qualities of the first generation Rx-7.
Very well done!

Also in relation to the Avatar comment "...the conversion quality is a bit of an unknown"
Hmmm, not really...every one knows that these things were built farking strong...unfortunately at a consumer cost...they were farkin expensive!
After actually seeing one, I can tell ya the conversion quality was exceptional!

A Word From the Rotary Club...
Here to enjoy are high quality scans of Stu's excellent response in the September issue of Sports Car Market Magazine. Stu captured well what I disliked about the article, yet at the same time I appreciate SCM including the Rx-7 in its coverage and hope for more.
Kudos Stu!

I think that now is the best time for mazda to re-introduce the RX-7. If you go to edmunds.com and look at both the consumer and edotor's ratings of the newer Mazda vehicles, you will see that Mazda is just as, if not more, competitive with Toyota and Honda. People are putting more trust into Mazda vehicles. A new 7 would be shocking to the market I believe.
