Finally back in the USA!!
WOW I have been out of touch for a while!! I have been in Europe on business for over a month. I have been in England, Holland, and Germany. It has been nice and was very fun driving on the Autobahn in Germany.
My company headquarters is in Rheine Germany. I drove one of our "pool" vehicles... Just a Reanult Megane turbo diesel. I could get up to about 205 KPH on some stretches (128 MPH) and could comfortable cruise at 190 KPH (comfortably meaning NOT florred all the time) (119 mph).
The cool thing we could learn from the Europeans is almost all cars are diesel and standard transmissions. I drove to Cologne from Rheine one weekend.... drove 100 MPH + the whole way and got close to 35 MPG!! All those diesels and so clean...no smoke, no fumes... Why do we have all these stupid hybrids when a cool turbo diesel costs less, lasts longer and gets decent fuel mileage.
Anyhow, I will be back at home (where my RX-7's are) on Monday evening.... I am ready to enjoy my cars again.
I will be getting new wheels and Hoosier tires for my autocross RX-7 and start enjoying slalom again...
My black SA22 will be getting a great spring cleaning and recovering the factory seats with new Racing Beat covers...
Anyhow.... weather is great here in Texas.... ready to have some fun!!!

Welcome back. I spent a bit of time in Germany for the Army and have loathed the US vehicles and traffic control systems ever since. I was a fan of Diesel vehicles before, but that sealed the deal. Did you also notice how much faster people respond to traffic lights when they turn yellow before they turn green?

Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed Germany, I haven't been back there since I was two (born there as an Army Brat).

Not to just mention the autobahn... A hotrodder....like most of us.... could have a blast there. Even in town I hardly ever saw the Polize, and when I did, there cars are so brightly painted that even Ray Charles could see there car.

I was wondering if A&M was having an autocross yesterday. I was out on HWY 60 yesterday and almost cruised over by the annex to see if racing was happening.
I also just bought a cool new car right before I went on my Europe trip.... I hope to do a little autocrossing in it also. I bought a 2010 Subaru WRX. I am about to put a stage 2 kit on her!! Man she flys.... the magazines are claiming 0-60 in 4.7 for the new WRX!!

Welcome Back! I go to Spain a few times a year for work. I always get the same Audi A3 1.9 TDI. I can get that little thing up to 200 KPH on a flat road and 220 on a decline.

Next time I am in Germany I would like to go to Nurburgring myself. That area is way south of where our company is so maybe I can take a weekend vacation away from Rheine Germany and go down there.
