It was rediculously expensive when it was available. Like $500 or something like that. You just need some different headlights vs. the sealed beams. Some H4 housings look a million times better. The FD's doesn't look terrible cause it's not perfectly square, it curves and kind of flows with the body and headlight cover. I think the Knightsports kits were the greatest pop up light kits ever
Lol. I will go off to CarMax tomorrow and see if I can find some chevy trucks and the width/height of their beams. Also gotta look up ebay to find parts. wgbrlkigbwrkijhg lotta work to do tomorrow.https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...postcount=2833
I'll let you know some things tomorrow on what I find if you would like.

How about "pop-downs"?
Lights off, looks stock.
Switch the lights on, and the stock headlight covers drop down in the rear, revealing square inset light like the picture on the first page.
Would be cool? Best of both worlds?
& you could put NACA ducts on the inboard sides...

^^ I think you are on to something. I wonder how you would get the motor to adjust to popping the back down instead of the front up.
And don't tell me to flip the motor around

It'd take a pretty thorough re-design; you'd be changing the hingepoint from the rear to the front, among other things. On the other hand, you're not moving near as much weight, since only the doors would have to move. You wouldn't need any recess space below.
Motor's crank arms would have be redone, but they might be able to stay in the same place.
Complex mod. But would be high cool-factor.

I don't think the Knightsports kits are available anymore but I'd check the FC section and double check. The Camaro lights won't work since they are only single beam lights, so you would need 2 per side(one for lows and one for highs).

IMO - Square lights make the front end resemble a 300ZX too much don't you think?
One setup for lights that I've always been fond of was the Opel GTs. The rotated sideways and didn't suffer from the height factor that the 1st and 2nd gens do. Imho, round light fit the 1st gens, it was the 70's after all. I do like the rectangle ones that are built in and don't pop up in the 2 pics, and they do have that 300ZX flavor.
The is one major difference between the pop up assemblies of the 1st and 2nd gens. The 1st gens rotate up, light points down about 45* when retracted. The 2nd gens lift up, the light is always in the vertical position so one can flash the high beams through the FTP lenses when retracted.
