I met someone with a GSL, and she said the car just goes and goes with the automatic transmission. When I mentioned the 13 b fuel injected 135 hp, she kinda zoned out.

only the GSL-SE had a 13B, and all of those were manual.

What do you mean by goes and goes? Automatic transmissions will subtract at least 1 second from 0-60 and 2 seconds from the 1/4 mile. Not to mention are typically more fragile so dont last as long.

I own an Auto 12a car now and can't wait to drive it. I'm really curious as to what the driving experience is like. I know it won't be nearly as good as a manual, but it'll be different and unique - that's always a cool thing. And the number of auto cars is extremely low (if anyone has an idea of the number please feel free to share that) so it's a pretty rare option. It'll obviously be getting swapped out for a manual, no fun letting something else decide when to shift in a sports car.

NCross, she probably meant that it was smooth, the rotary by nature is smooth like a v-12, and with the automatic transmission it was really smooth.

She's a big bank loan officer that had all kinds of toys (cessna's, a jaguar car, houses and boats). Give her a break, she is not a motor head. She bragged about the red dragons painted on the black car.

My experience with an SA automatic is that it short shifts at about 4 -4 1/2 thousand RPM. It is sliky smooth but lacks a lot of the sports car experience. No matching rpm downshifts while entering corners or letting the RPM's run out before grabbing another gear. The upside is that the engine still pulls strong and makes good power due to all the babying its had through out its life.

My biggest problem is when I go back and forth bewteen the manual Rex and the auto. More than once, I pushed on the brake pedal like it was a leg full of clutch....Talk about your sudden stops at just the wrong moment!
