Coolant level sensor

Where can I find an adapter to install the coolant level sensor on my aluminum radiator?

The hole diameter is bigger that the diameter of the sensor.....

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...

Oh looks like it might be tough to find an off the shelf adaptor.

First I would figure out what thread the rad is. Hopefully a straight metric thread. Then find an aluminum plug/fitting of that thread size, and you could drill and tap the center of it for the sensor. Assuming the rad is a straight thread, you will need a seal on the face of the plug.

Same for OEM sensor, it seals with a small seal.

Or plug it and run without the sensor, grounding the sensor wire should stop light from coming on.

I think low coolant level indication is a nice to have. If your coolant gets that low you probably already have a problem.... leak, rad cap seal, etc.

What rad is it? Seems many of the aftermarket aluminum rads available for our cars have poor fitment. Even the Koyo for the -SE has some issues.

Heard back from the radiator manufacturer. It is indeed a NPT. Cut/paste of pic they sent below.

Or you could plug it with trial and error in the Hme Depot parking lot, trying different fittings and returning the ones that don't work.

Then ground out the wire going to the sensor, and check the coolant level often.

I got more tired of trying to find the right sensor than I did of checking the coolant level every saturday.
