I would recommend against any type of sealer. On piston engines, water pumps and radiators, it does some damage in the long term, ask me how I know . Perhaps the rotary's are different.

I too would stay away from any form of stop leak.

I would find where the leak is coming from and fix it properly. Based on your description on the leak, I would think it may be coming from the intake manifold o-rings. This will require removal of the lower intake manifold and replacement of the two o-rings.

Recently finished doing exactly that.

I've been given some information that suggest it could be a failing housing seal.

There was fluid collecting here (around the 13B).

It waa pretty grimy in the area. I cleanes it out and dabbed it dry. The first time it came back.

Seems every couple days I was adding 1/2 - 1 qrt.
of coolant.

since I've been warming here up everyday. The smoke has lessened.

Now there is little if any smoke, ans there is fluid collecting on the housing.🤷🏾‍♂️

Maybe the seal is dried out from the car sitting as long as it was before I bought it?

if it is the seal it will go eventually. But maybe I can make that someone else's problem.

The water seals @mazdaverx713b is talking about are on the exhaust side as part of the intake manifold. If you saw water near that 13B, that would mean an iron-to-housing water seal and is only repairable as a rebuild.

I agree with the above. I would add though, that it may not be only deterioration of the coolant seal, but coddision on the housing. I have seen in cases where the coolant seal groove corroded and allows coolant to escape. Most commonly, coolant is heated by the exhaust and caused the coolant to boil and overheat. The other thing we see is that the exhaust will cause the coolant to over pressurize and or cause Alka Seltzer like bubbles to appear in the coolant. This can be seen with the radiator cap off or in the coolant overflow reservoir.

However, it's odd that the coolant is getting into your exhaust if it's solely leaking on the left side of the engine opposite of the exhaust. Perhaps two leaks?
