Color scheme opinions

Greetings all.

I have an 83 gsl that is in seriouse need of a paint job.

It's winter now and as i have nothing to do i been thinking about my to do list for the summer, and getting the car painted is on the top of that list.

But as many of you before me, i can't decide if i should keep the original (current) color or do a two tone, red with black roof.

So can i have a show of hands of how many people like the current look please^^

All comments are welcomed, the picture is from the start of the last summer before it was hit by a bike, and i did all my rust removing. It looks nothing like this now, thats why needs a paint job.

Looks alright, I would replace the side marker lenses with clear ones and add some blash mesh wheels with red idonized lug nuts!

the lenses might be doable, hower tmy budget for next year is extremly tight, so rims are out of the question the red lug nuts are doable though

Don't paint the rub strips, paint will never hold. First time someone bangs it with a door, the paint will crack, then later begin to peel.

... I am, however, a huge fan of the original Batmobile.

stripes are already painted, the color scheme is done by previouse owner.

As of right now I am thinking of taking the moldings and targa top off, painting the car, adding the targa top, just to see how it looks. I doubt i will keep the molding on, as i prefure how the car looks clean.

I'm not sure if the targa top is orginal or later added by previouse owners.
The car has been in front end accident before, thus i'm sure the front bumper has been replaced, as it does not fit properly on the car. Any exports know a sure way to check this?

I gotta say... I don't like that at all. The red trim all around looks like a 4-year old screaming for attention. "LOOK AT ME I'M A DOOR HANDLE!"

I'd shoot it straight black (or red) and ditch the mouldings.

I say a nice bright red(sunrise red or something similar) and a black roof would look really good

i would just remove all that red paint and repaint the car the original color with the proper moulding color and not a two tone. i'm just not a fan.

I was not the one who painted the car like that, just to make things clear^^ the picture is taken in the first month of my ownership of the car.

I was thinking of doing a two tone, there is a very well painted 1st gen with that color scheme on this forum, but am thinking against it now, I think i rather go for a clean look. Right now i'm debating between a black, or deep red with no moldings, and no Targa top.

What are your thoughts on targa tops?
