I've seen the pictures around. I think the car looks good, it's clean and simple but I'd prefer to see a vertical sidewall (think Advan A048 or RT615s) and see that flushed out rather than the lip of the wheel.

But I do believe he'll learn the hard way about slamming first gens and the inherent issues with suspension.

You mean, the way the back end keeps wanting to come around up front to see what the driver's doing?

I do like the way it looks, but it must be **** to drive.

Seems like the first gen 7 is finally becoming 'cool' to mainstream car guys.

edit: I feel like going outside and ripping off my side molding right now.

the only problem i have with my car being as low as it is, Front crossmember is about 2 inches off the ground, is the lower 4 links smash into the floor going over bumps.. they are about 1/4" from the floor, and i have been driving it this way for about 5 months.

and yes... those are scrape marks on the gas tank :/

I did a couple weeks ago, it definitely gives the car a more modern appearance. (If that's something you're looking for.)

It's nice... the only problem I have with it is that the suspension is set up for the track, while the tires are set up for neither. I agree with DarrenTRS about the sidewalls. I'm guessing those are Aero or Diamond Racing wheels? They look good... just needs some wider rubber. I'm sure he'd have to roll and flare the fenders too.

I'm joining the lowered crowd... ordered some RB springs last night. It shouldn't teeter-totter on speed bumps like that car would. And I also have no side molding... I think it looks good either way but it's easier not having it. And it doesn't serve a whole lot of purpose since most car doors are high enough to miss it and ding the door anyway.

This reminds me, I need to put a roof rack on my SA.....oh wait, it needs to be able to drive to the bike trails first

I think this is a forum member, but I can't place his screen name. You may have better luck finding him by going to the ontario regional section.

I had my car nearly that low with 8 inch wide wheels and 225 tires. Bump steer like crazy and tore the hell out of the sidewalls and beat the fenders up really good. The stretched tire look isn't just because they think it looks cool. It's so the tire won't hit the fender on every bump. If your going to drive it slammed you need at least turn-in spacers in the front and a very good alignment as well as skinnier tires and a super stiff suspension for good measure. Even then it's not going to like it. Once I raised the car a bit it was happier. Also when I had the RB springs the car was probably a couple inches higher and I still managed to find a parking lot entrance that caught on one of the presilencers and put a nice dent in it. When you run that low you have to watch out for every little thing that might hurt your car. Unless your roads are like glass and meticulously maintained it's just not worth the aggravation. It does look good though.

I've been running RB springs for 17 years. Total drop from stock, one inch.

Ditto on the 1" drop

I'm a biker but I refuse to put a rack on top of my car....
Ugh
If you're gonna put a rack, better to put a hidden trailer hitch so you can tow your race wheels too

I saw this car on this forum yesterday. Had a good write up on how he modified the suspension. The guy is in canada I do believe. **** on roofracks. Otherwise the car is beautiful. Some of those pics are of the wheels on the car with no rubber

Yeah I remember seeing it a few weeks back around these parts. Pretty damn sweet if you ask me. Just needs some serious $ thrown at the performance, otherwise its just low and slow...
