which carburetor for my 12a
I just purchased a 12a 84 GSL its turbo and was told the carburetor needs a rebuild its a dellorto.
Now my question is 1. Is there anyone here on the forum that can rebuild it for me and 2. Am I better off switching to a differnt carburetor or keep this?
I am very new to rotary engines and a little tech savy when it comes to cars. Thank you a lot

Saw your thread about the purchase! Looks like a cool car.
I am curious to see pics of the engine bay and carb setup, a 12a turbo with a Dellorto is unique. Must be a boost prepped somehow, I think a Lotus used a Dellorto for factory turbo application.. or is it a draw through?
The Dellorto is easy to work on, I am running a RB Dell 48 on my car and it is so simple to take apart and clean up.
I think first you need to find out what has been done to the Carb.
A rebuild is quite simple and would only involve a few parts, gaskets you can get from https://www.dellorto.co.uk/
Google will point you towards rebuild tutorials, but really you just take the top cover off, take the bottom accel pump cover off.. remove jets.. and install new gaskets. Maybe 1 hour of work with a slotted screw driver.
There are a few Dellorto threads here for tuning tips, but not sure what would apply to a turbo application.
First take the top cover off (lift it straight off to avoid damage to the float), and inspect to see what the float bowl looks like and look at the float to see if it is still in OK shape.
