Shuva - DUDE - WAY TO GO!!! That's a stunning LS you have there! It is so good to see a survivor like this in Brilliant Black. Except for the seat tear which I bet you can get fixed, the cabin and engine bay interiors will look **** all detailed up.
So you purchased both? This LS and the Silver 80 GS?
Have a week will ya! WOW!

Nice pair of SAs
Be gentle on the re-starts and you shouldn't have to worry about "sleeper" mods for a while. For gawd sake if you DO mod these, please don't tell any of us! We'll have nightmares for weeks....
Enjoy - look forward to seeing more details when you get more pics shot. Maybe you can get the whole car in one image?

Dave, look again at you spare. These tires are not the OEM ones. I have the same "series
300" on my 79 red rocket. I bought them late 80's early 90's (probablly still have the reciept somewhere) But the whole reason I got them was due to their similarities to the LS/LE tires.
Still, Shuva, it doesn't take away from your car. It's Brilliant! I'd check your spare, it may well be OEM.

Beautiful car... and I spot SA-style electric mirror controls I would maim for...
It would be downright criminal not to restore and preserve a car of that rarity.
To answer your question; clutch replacement on these very conventional: pull trans, insert clutch. the only "hard" part for some is getting the flywheel off if it needs resurfacing. With proper tools and technique it's not rocket science; one huge nut torqued to ~300 ft-lbs holds the flywheel on.
MUCH easier than doing a FWD clutch.

Here's the 79 interior. Information for anyone reading this for how much to pay-- I bought both mine non-running from storage ~2K+ rest of the registration fees etc. Having said that, I basically stole it for the shape it's in. If the cars were running solid with no oil leaks etc it may be worth twice as much. These are rare gems I found (so I feel) they are an exception not a norm. I think the risk is worth it even though I have a bit of work to do to get them running. Both of these were bought from original owners who loved the car and asked me to stop by and visit once I get 'em running.

Yes, your right about the Rare Gem part. Orginial owners who loved them are the key here. They didn't get passed down as a teen mobil or sold to someone who modded them up and drove them into the ground. should be too bad to get running. Their condition really does look exceptional. I'd start a book to keep all the documentation in. Your pictures are great, take plenty and put them in the book along with reciepts of parts and work performed. Take pictures during and after and organize it all. After you get them all polished up and purring, you should stop back and see the owners. They would appreciate it and might have some additional paperwork or something they found after they sold it. See if they have a picture of the car when it was new! Don't forget to take their picture with the car again. That stuff becomes invaluable if you want to maximize the resale value. It's all in the details.
