The trouble with exhaust components for our cars is heat. The rotary exhaust is more intense that the average boinger engine. So for longevity, the most success is had with mufflers that use stainless steel packing material, or ceramic, or both.

Pacesetter makes one, and most agree its terrible. One came on my 2nd fb when I bought it. Sounds awful.

Magnaflow makes a muffler that looks stock but nice and shiny. I actually used to have one, but it was too loud for my taste. Many use and like the Magnaflow.

Racing beat has one that is fantastic and is built like a tank. sounds good too. Quiet for some people's taste, but I like it. But is it pricey, nearly $300.

You can go with universal aftermarket ones. It is tough to find one will hold up and not be too noisy.

Recently I have been doing a lot of research on finding a relatively quiet aftermarket muffler, and I have found a few old threads with some success stories.

One person had good success with a little magnaflow straighthrough as a resonator and a straighthough borla xs (i think) for a main muffler. Sounded FANTASTIC. it was MosesX605's setup, but we never got an answer concerning longevity. I recently PMed him, but no response. The thread is years old.

Another person used an apexi world sport II with incredible results (a 2nd gen guy) but those mufflers cost nearly $300 (plus they are universal, so you might as well stick with the racingbeat setup, it bolt's right on)

I have heard good things about the dynomax super turbo muffler. Its cheap and sounds good on everything i have found a sound clip or video on. Even little 4 bangers. I have almost completely decided to get one. It doesn't flow as much as a straight through design, but metter than stock. I think they sound GREAT. But its universal so finagling is required.

So the answer is not easy. Maybe someone else with more experience with different exhaust setup's can chime in

Or if you can't fab the Racingbeat setup is great. Aslong as you're not trying to break any HP records the RB exhaust works. I however am not a fan.

I'm using a dynatec split flow as a resonator and I really like how it sounds at low RPM. Its very bassy, almost WRX sounding. The rear muffler (fart can, nothing more) doesn't do anything however.

That is a cold start, so its a bit more raspy then it is when it warms up.

I'm going to switch to the racing beat universal 2.5'' muffler. Anyone have some clips of that one?

Racing beat collected header, dynatec split flow race muffler, 2.25" piping, and a racing beat universal 2.5" muffler with a dump tip. Try not to mind the alternator squeal as I rev it. I'm working on that haha

ill be running a stockport rb header with 2 1/2 inch piping to a vibrant 2 1/2 inch inlet muffler (fart can). these mufflers seem like pretty decent quality from what ive seen. ill try to post a vid next week when i get it all bolted up. its not a dd so i really dont care about volume but if its too raspy and high pitched ill add a resonator. but which brand idk yet

Same here. The only way this video could possibly be any better would be if it was
an old British car instead
