back in the game

after selling my 79 yellow rx7 a couple of years ago, i picked up a nice 83 LE on saturday. it has 57k on the body and 11k on a rebuilt motor. theres no rust and it came with a car cover, all of the records from the last owner (2 owner car), glass and metal sunroof, and a few other goodies. ill post some pictures when i get the chance. the only problem is the antena will not go down. dose anyone know how to get it to go down? i just need to tget it down so i can put the car cover on it. thanks

Karl Rove in a thong would do the trick just fine...
*ahem* - moving on-
Welcome back ! Did you check to make sure the antenna is actually connected at both ends?

often times the teeth wear down on the plastic antenna cable and you'll hear the motor working but there will be no movement due to the strippping.

Have you tried pushing it down? That sometimes works. If not, you'll need to remove the plastic panel and find out if the gears stripped or the tape broke.
