Anyone seen this old race car lately?

Hello all,

Random question: does anyone know the whereabouts of this old FB racer? I missed the boat by about 5 years but it was located very close to me in Rancho Santa Fe down in Socal and I'm morbidly curious to know what may have happened to it. I hope it's out there racing somewhere! I wish I could have gotten my hands on it to take it vintage racing

Honestly this is the first time I've seen it. A very cool car indeed!

The ad was originally posted on a different forum from this one, one whose title eschews those piston things and here's what it read, copy-pasted here:

"Clearing out my stable...
This car was never fully done out as a tube frame car but ran in IMSA in 1981 until the tube frame car was finished. It then ran in SCCA for years, became a Prom/Hospitality car for an Indy Team, and has now SAT FOR YEARS OUTSIDE IN SAN DIEGO.

12a PP is LONG GONE. Has a mild port 12a with an old school BLOW THROUGH TURBO setup with a Holly two barrel, Rayjay Turbo and external wastegate adjustable from inside the cockpit.

So apparently its a real period IMSA GTU car with history, which I would have done unholy things for had I been looking 5 years ago, but c'est la vie
I'm tempted to email the address posted but I don't think I should bother the guy.

If you truly are interested in that car, I say bother the guy. What’s the worst that could happen. You don’t get a reply?

Well I just might have to reach out and see what became of it. I am becoming more and more curious by the day! Considering no one seems to know what's become of it if I can hear anything back I'll let y'all know. Hopefully someone is restoring it or getting it ready to track it again and it's not just rotting away...
