In all my years I have not seen a black plaid 7. Is this stock?

Yep, esp in early white SAs. This is a stock feature on the early GS models...

I've always called those white plaid. I seem to notice them mostly in combination with Sunbeam Silver exterior cars but have saw them in a Daytona Blue car once. Mostly found in the early and some mid production GS cars manufactured in 78. S models always seemed to have red dot seat covers. 79's made in the last 4 to 6 months of production started to get velour seat inserts as the upgraded option over the red dots.

 

Indeed very stock as mentioned above. Not many around in that condition anymore honestly. The Wine colored plaid seats are spectacular as well.
