So running a smaller tire is like upgrading the 3.909 rear to like 4.3 roughly? Going from stock 70 to a 45 height is at least an inch and a half so it sorta changes your gearing right? Which is good for autocross.

I like the wheels very much. I'm lookin for rota RB for the looks. (I haven't found a picture with it) Price for the panas in 15" is $250+ but more imprtant is that you have to wait a lot to get it.

About a year and a half ago... Here's mine with Rota RB 15x7 +20 in gunmetal. Before the RB springs, new struts, tint, and my paint restoration.

Just say NO to Rotas.

Everyone has their opinion, and mine is that I hate knock-offs in general and I hate poting cheap (as in crappy not inexpensive) parts on my seven as they will look like crap in a couple years and then we are categorized as "ricers" along with the guy on my street with one-year-old Rotas that are rusted (don't ask me how).

You can pick up good quality, real wheels in the for sale section, ebay, or other car site. I picked up some cherry BBS RS wheels (real) on the Zilvia site as they have a lot more volume than we do.

I would prefer to buy a used real Rolex than 5 imitation Roli on China Town.

But in that case, aren't Panasports just knock offs of Watanabes? Which are knock offs of a British design from the 60s?

Anyway. To the OP: I want to see them mounted up with tires! I was thinking of running a smaller wheel with a smaller tire for track use.

Panasports = Quality and engineering

Rotas = Create a mold and literally knock-off another wheel

As they say in the art world "nothing is original". No matter what you are doing it has been done before or it is inspired by another design. Designing something that is inspired or even copying another design is much different than a cheap knock-off. If you don't believe me, but two Rotas and put then on the left side of your car and two brand-name wheels on the right. Let me know how that works out.

I agree... I race this car, but also I enjoy it because it is a classic, old school Mazda... I race it knowing that the miatas will beat it, but I race it knowing it is a cool old school mazda.

I picked the Panasports because they are cool... they are made in JAPAN and not China like the rest of the crap we buy.

I considered cool one off racing wheels like real, bogarts, Keizer, etc., but settled on Panasports for cost, quality and just the "it looks right" feel.

Think about it this way... you could spend $100 each and get Koenig Rewinds that "kinda" look like Panasports... or just double that price and get real Panasports...

In my autocross car I will go through $1600 a year in Hoosier race tires.... I will have invested $800 for LIFE in my Panasports...you got to look at it that way!

I will post pics when I get back to the states... I am in Ensenada Mexico on a business trip.... just got though eating some Yellow Fin Tuna and drinking some Bohemia Beer.... then took a cruise with a friend out to the Pacific in a nice boat... I am chilling in my hotel listening to the world go by and chatting with you guys!!!

Life is good!!!

The thing is Ilike the panas so much but I don't find any who sell it that have it on stock. I don't like the konig rewings and there isn't many option in 114.3 to buy wheels. I think I will go with rotas RB, not because I love just because there isn't many options in the market

I say, be origianl and get an original. Look in one of the wheel threads and see how many people are running those. Everyone is the correct answer. Then, go to the Miata forum and see how many people are running those--everyone. Then go to the Zilvia forum... My point is why customize a car if you are going to customize it to look just like everyone elses?

Can you wait a couple of weeks or are wheels an emergency item?

Fisrt check out your wheels sale post. I reply to you!!!.

Second. I have no problem to buy the panas but don't know where to get it. I send an e-mail to mazdatrix they have in their webpage. Let's wait for an answer from them. The thing is I'm against the clock. I need the car ready for an event on june 13. I'm pick-up the parts to rebuild my differential and getting wheels and tires fo teh event.
