Why would wheels have to be boxed with one end up?

Handle with care leads me to believe something glass, but Black Hearts is right about the symbol on the box. You see that on a lot of wheels.

I have no idea why the sign "one end up".... they were packaged like they shipped uranium straight from Japan!!!

The guys at Mazdatrix hooked me up and got these right out to me!!
