He must have changed the description after I looked at it, I sent him a message on flea-bay telling him I called BS without a VIN.

This 2012 RX-7 was given to me by Chuck Norris last month, and I know you all will have questions about it before you purchase it.
Q1. How do you have a 2012 RX-7 in early 2009?
A. Easy, Chuck Norris asked Mazda for one and they sped up their R&D and Production facilities to ensure that he recieved one in the timeframe required
Q2. What engine is in the car?
A. It's a 30bt N/A 5-rotor producing 700+ rwhp on pump gas.
Q3. Why are you selling the car?
A. I need a bit of cash, and I can't ensure that I will be able to find parts for a couple of years. A broken flux capacitor is a bitch to replace in this day and age.
Q4. How much do you want for it?
A. It's at the beginning of the ad. Do math.
Q5. How do you know Chuck Norris?
A. I met CN when we were in Vietnam putting down the Cyborg Ninja Pirate Jesus uprising. Destroying wave after wave of murderous beings with the face of the Son of Hosts creates a bond between soldiers that can never be broken.
Q6. Why'd CN give you his car?
A. We were having a barbeque and the remnants of the CNPJ (cyborg ninja pirate jesus) Coalition targeted CN's place with a tactical nuke. I managed to divert the warhead by starting my FB and stomping the gas. The black cloud of concentrated Awesome that erupted from the tail pipe was sufficient to send the warhead off course...I heard it landed in some place called Falkland. It's in the ocean from what I hear, so I'm sure no one really cares about it or anything.

Also, an update from my message to the e-bay seller
So I guess it really is WAY's car, cool.
Guy kinda seems like an *** with the "I will gladly accept your apology" comment, my note was obviously sent in good humor...
*EDIT* the VIN shows up as invalid in CarFax and AutoCheck...I messaged the seller about that and asked for an update.

I'm a close personal friend. Max

Now i don't know about that. No true rotary heads like us would fall for that, we're an intelligent bunch. Some of those piston heads might fall for it though =P

Yeah, VINs need to be 17 characters, which it is, but I just doesn't come up.

I've known him for 20 years. At myspace/maxbangwell you can see a photo of me playing harmonica with Al at the house of blues from the mid 90s. If you are myspace friends with him ask him about his rx & max bangwell. Somewhere in my archives I have a photo of Al with the car. My guess is that since the car is 25 years old, car fax & otto chek give it no value. Maybe DMV-CA or a more beaurocracy/less value kind kind of search will be more productive. I tried to sell the car here in L.A. but only got an offer of $1200. As just an rx it's a good price, but being Al's rx I think should bring more. Like I say in the add, if I dont get a better offer I'll remove it before it ends & sell it here without the hassle.
Al was in some rx club I think when he 1st got this car. Maybe you could find something there. Max

I never really have understood the "this used to belong to...." brand of celebrity worship. It's pretty common, and it obviously has value to a lot of people (look at celeb auctions and what their old stuff gets!) but I've never felt the attraction, myself.
Closest I ever got was back in high school and shortly after when I collected autographs (sci-fi writers and actors, mainly), but I only chased the ones where I got things signed myself. It was more the experience of meeting the person, than having the autograph, that I enjoyed.
I've admired Al's work for ages, and would enjoy meeting him (I think he's clever as hell), but having a car that used to be his, just doesn't push any buttons for me.

Have RX-7, will restore

if it were Weird Al's car, dont you think the new owner would have taken better care of it, knowing that it being owned by someone in the music industry could possibly increase the value? also, look at the 626 wheels on the rear... i would ask the guy to take a pic of teh pics he has of Al in the car and post that up for validity. that car looks pretty whopped.

Dave it's Weird Al's car, he's not like the rest of us, compulsively maintaining our 7's in museum condition. No doubt his buddy wanted to respect Al's wishes and left it original.
And yeah I'd love to see those pics of Al and the car, somebody put them up here when they hit the net.
