You sir just won $500. That's what a deposit is for. You hold the car and if they skip out on the deal it doesn't hurt you from the loss of any other potential sales. Deposits are non-refundable from most places for this reason. I would suggest giving it another week then posting the car for sale again.

Car Sold, I took the $500 off price car and a guy drove down from NJ... Glad it went to a home.. .. Sorry DirectFreak, I know you would have taken good care of car also..
