There is a near mint 85 GSL-SE listed on cars com. Just did a search and it popped up. Pictures are worth taking a look. Looks like it just came off the show room new. Make a nice collector car.

1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL SE, $14,000 - Cars.com

Looks like the mirrors, if not the whole car has been painted. The says it has not been repainted though.

You could get body colored mirrors back in the day. You see them often but the black was perhaps the more common way they came.
I've had body colored mirrors on Tender blue/Sunrise Red/Dover White cars in the past.
With that mileage you'd expect to see the original tires.
My 40K SE still has its P6's. They ain't worth a damn but they were on the car still.
I think its legit.

It's good to know about the mirrors. The only other car I've seen factory painted mirrors was a Royal Moron GSL-SE.

Its missing the rear quarter molding. With everything else being so nice, no original floor mats? No rear interior, under body, or engine shots?

My Royal Maroon SE has the original paint (what's left of it!) and it has red painted mirrors.

Speaking of $15,000 asking prices. Check out this one, 1985 GS "IMSA Edition" 21,500 miles.

Discrepancies aside, still a good looking car.

There was a similar SE listed in Akron, Ohio a little over a year ago. Less miles (23k) and was just about perfect. I noticed there were two faded areas on the dash right above the glove box, but other than that.... Obviously it's sold now, but the listing is still there.

The last of the 85 cars all came with body colored mirrors and factory bronze glass all around and a tinted windshield. Here's mine, build date of may 85.
