the only 7 ever produced in chateau silver was the 83 limited edition and included a nice red pinstriping. the seats are unique to the LE, as are the 14in wheels. only 5000 LE's were produced. they were based on the GS sunroof model and retailed for $12,720.

Why they didn't base it off a GSL model is beyond me, yea you get the 14" wheels, but no rear disks or lsd to go with it.... Still its very cool that you found one, not many are left I'm sure. If you are trying to restore it back to stock you will need to find a set of the Limited Edition emblems that go on the sail panels, and paint it the correct color...
Dave, do you know what was different about the seats?

From the looks of the pictures it still has some of the AC componets left you maybe able to just pick up an old compressor and fill it up with some R134A and be good to roll.

that might be the prettiest FB I've ever seen.

the seats have a special pattern if i remember correctly. its a different pattern from the standard GS and GSL. perhaps someone with an LE can post a better pic of their seats. this is the only one that i have:

Sadly I must say I am not sure what to do about it far as fixing/restoring it. It needs the entire interior replaced to make it how it came factory(hell just to make it decent again), someone severely butchered this interior..

You don't want to even see the pieces missing... anyone know how to get paint off without hurting the plastic?

well, you can sell me the car if you think you may be in over your head......

chameleon worked well for removing the white paint someone painted the interior on my 88 10AE. the stuff is great!!

haha not exactly what I meant. its deciding what to do like finding and replacing a factory interior which could take who knows how long to locate or just going ahead and doing my own custom interior. That said I would gladly sell you the car, just make it worth my while..

Thanks for the link that stuff looks very promising.

i've got a lot of the interior parts that you need, as i recently parted an 83 with red interior. if there's anything specific that you need i'd be happy to help you. i'd offer you $650 for the whole car. then there's me traveling to Canada which will take who knows how long. as much as i would like to, i just think it would be too much of a drive, lol.

I am looking for a complete dash with the lower trim pieces to go with it.. Headliner including the piece for the moon roof and all side trim would be good too.. oh and door skins...

If you have that stuff let me know a price including shipping and maybe we can work something out..

Everything I have is either painted or damaged.. the carpet is in good shape but covered in black paint over spray (we are looking into having it cleaned or re dyed)

The seats are in excellent condition they just don't match anything so I have not decided on them yet...
