Yes, the NA and TII for the S5 put out the same amperage, i'm talking about the S4, which he said is a bolt on solution, but only mentioned the TII.

For the S4, the NA are like the GSL-SE alts (60A). The TII are 70A. Either will bolt on. You might need the S4 pivot bolt spacer when putting the alt on a 12A. Can't remember for sure. If you have a choice between TII and NA for S4, go for TII. If you already have the S4 NA, it is still a small upgrade.

Being outsmarted by my car
Hello again,
Where to start.... First off the engine is in, it runs and it now idles happily at 1000 rpm. From there the news drops off.... one or both of my oil cooler lines drips right at the fitting going into the cooler, I have JB welded part of it. Doing little by little to see when it actually stops the leak... the bung is next to get smeared.
My fuel pressure would not get above 4.75 psi with my holley red pump so I flow tested it, took a gas shower, and found out it was not flowing nearly enough gas at free flow. I dropped the tank, looked in and it looked pretty clean, I forgot to run some wire down the pick up tube to make sure nothing was in there... on the to do list now. I went out and bought a Holley Blue fuel pump and now i'm getting 6 psi, regulated down from 14, into the carb.
I then went to check my timing with a light. This confused me to no end... I was not getting any light when I pulled the trigger. I thought the light was broken, so i tried it out on my 626, that worked fine. Went back and tried the leading front rotor wire again... nothing! For kicks I hooked it up the the trailing wire... and what do you know! the damn thing worked great, my trailing timing was advanced about 3/8'' to 1/2'' from the trailing mark on the pulley.... So now my leading ignition did not work... nothing was coming along the low tension cable from the coil. I looked and thought for 5 mins and realized the ignition coil cables were crossed. Switched those around and still no spark, switched out the coil with another from the parts car, still nothing... went to sleep... woke up and tried the last possible thing... the leading ignitor! and whalla spark!! Checked the timing and i'm advanced from the leading mark about 1/4''. Does this timing setup sound about right to anyone?? Or should I set them directly on the marks?
Now comes in my dumb *** being too smart for my own good... while I was putting in the tank I noticed a couple tubes that didn't go to anything. One was capped off and the other went through some contraption above the diff and just went forward to nothing. I pulled both of the hard lines and the contraption and capped off both of those tubes coming out of the tank. The only tube left open was the pickup for the fuel pump. I had the deranged idea that the fill tube would serve as a breather so air could get in as the pump pulled gas out... WRONG!!!! As I found out the damn tube that went to the contraption and forward to nothing was the breather, this is now on my to do list to put back on the car, after I drain the tank of course. I noticed something was really wrong when I had the car running for 5 mins and then noticed my new pump making an odd noise, so i opened up the fill plug cap and gas shot out at me... quite a bit of it. I swear my unstated goal this weekend was to light myself on fire... luckily avoided that outcome.
So now I have my holley 465 carburetor off of the car in a box with me... i'm thinking of selling it and buying a brand new one from racing beat just because the new one would be in tune and hopefully pre-set to run my streetport.
Ahh... and another fun one. My new holley blue makes a whirring noise that is ok with me... what bothers me is that everytime I touch the brakes or use a turn signal or put on the lights... or basically anything that draws amps I can hear the pump noise alter its pitch. So my next thing to do after everything else is to run a new wire from the + terminal of my leading ignition coil through a 7.5 amp fuse to a switch and back to the pump. Thus installing an easy anti theft deterrent.
Any ideas... suggestions... laughter... would be appreciated

On the road
Got it inspected today and passed with some minor issues to deal with
Went for a short drive after wards and as a treat for her I let her visit with some younger siblings
The red miata is very close to what I will be getting in the near future.
I also have some videos of the prht miata top going up and down... any interest?

The good stuff
Here is the best part of the weekend...
I re-routed the OMP lines away from the primary float bowl. This is a much cleaner and over all better setup than racing beat's
The engine bay is also looking pretty darn good at this point as well.
My only issue right now is a leaking oil cooler.... I think the bungs have some hairline cracks in them from age or over tightening or both... So my plan is this.
Grind off both bungs flush with the cooler
Weld on two new -AN male fittings
Pressure test and clean
Have new high pressure hydraulic lines made by napa
Install- drink beer and marvel at handy work
Never worry about a leaky cooler again

Not shown are the -8 AN male weld-on bungs that I have already dropped off with a local weld shop. Hoping to get the cooler pressure tested and cleaned in time for this weekend if I'm really lucky.
If anyone is interested in doing this I have the parts list with all the correct sizes all around.

If I get my lines and cooler done by tomorrow then i'll be heading up to NH to get Roxy. Then i'm planning on joining the caravan off of exit 48 on Rt. 80 sunday morning.
If the cooler is not done then i'll still be going in my 626, which car are you planning on bringing?

Are those 15"? I was going to get the panasports they sell at mazda trix, but didn't know if i should stick with 13" or go with 15", but those look really nice and fit the car well.
