82 GSL LSD Help

The LSD in my car is not functioning properly, it is binding up internally making the car really challenging to move. I am going to replace the LSD with something else, any suggestions?

I would pull your LSD out and have it rebuilt or find another from an FB and have that rebuilt before you install it.

mowog,is your car a roller or a driver? Are you pushing car around or driving it. Most LSD failures result in a condition that makes them act like an open diff and shouldn't add any resistance or binding. When diff oil hasn't been changed for sometime the limited slip additive in the oil that's to be used with LSDs deteriorates and loses effectiveness. Symptoms are groaning, sometimes chattering when changing direction/turning while under way. Possibly hypoid oil without additive was put in your LSD diff? If condition occurs while pushing car, suggest lifting car and checking for dragging brakes. This sounds more like a brake caliper(s) problem. Hope this helps.
