Hey Ron,

I believe the stock OEM long line is still available. I purchased 2 of those about 3 months ago from Mazda and intend to cut one of the longer lines down to match the short length when I replace mine in a few months.

You can use fuel tubing for small edgers and weedwackers. Lowes has them in the parts section
by the yard equipment.

You need a line with a tiny hole to allow the capillary effect to hold the oil in the line instead of letting it flow back down into the OMP, which happens on all other lines with a larger ID. Food for thought.

Located shorter line at MazdaTrix.

MazdaTrix sending two shorter lines plus short section of tubing to add to one shorter line to convert to 'long line purpose.'

I'll also check with Dealer to see if longer line is still available......can't hurt to have one of them on hand

Thx for the replies

Send me one of your shorter lines from Mazdatrix and I'll send you one of my longer lines. Problem solved for both of us!!

Yup, I was mistaken. Stu and I did a comparison. The 8871-14-670B is the shorty (of which I have 2). I need the 8871-14-660. If anyone has a NOS one of those they'd like to sell I would certainly be interested. Let me know!!

I just bought 2 shortys from Mazdatrix and they both fit fine without any additional line to extend to the rear inlet tube on the carb.

I've always wondered why you can't substitute the fragile plastic lines with something more robust like aluminum or brass with the same ID. Ideas?

You probably can as long as it's the same ID. But why when the OEM's are only 19$ a piece. I just changed mine for the first time on a 36 year old car, I'd say they're durable enough.
