43,000-mile First Gen sold at Auburn this past weekend

I just got back from the Auburn, Indiana auction this past weekend. A beautiful completely rust-free, stock and original condition 43,000-mile car sold for $5,200. Needed a nice detailing in the engine compartment, and the wheels needed to be refinished, but otherwise looked practically new.
I didn't buy it, but I felt it was a very good buy for the person that did.

Thanks for the info. I always watch for RX-7s in the background on these televised auctions. I've spotted a couple but they never show them on screen. Mecum is at Indy this weekend.

Looks like maybe an S model. No sunroof or tail badge.

Based on the non power mirrors, I would say that it is in fact an S model. It is a nice example though!

I saw this online and remembered this thread.

2015 Mazda RX-7 for sale in Celina - JM1FB3311F0909853 - Kerns Chevrolet Buick GMC

Obviously they have the year jacked up lol, but I'm pretty sure this is the same car.

This shows you that you don't always get a good deal at auctions. 3 months later and it's selling for $1300 less. And that's just the asking price.
