I just sold my 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege for 3 grand. it had 70k miles on it and ran pretty much like new. The MSP was the fastest FWD car ever tested through the cones by road and track magazine, beating the Integra TypeR.
My point is there are other 1990 - 2000's cars that are fast, fun and no so common. Screw the civic.

323GTX? Starion?

I vote civic or personally I'd see if you can finance a new TypeR. New fwd vehicles are very sporty and definitely capable on track.

My tuned DD, full interior Speed3 passes r35, M3, M4, ST(x) cars, etc (all were on R888R, low 90*ambient temps) at Sonoma all day. And it further blows peoples mind's when I pack up all my equipment in the back, plus 55 lb dog and then drive home with A/C, radio, etc. 30+ mpg's too.

GL in your search, I hope this helps

Civics just seem "uninspired" to me like a refrigerator or a toaster. If you don't really care about the feel of a car but you want fast get a Chevy V6 FWD car (doesn't matter which one Malibu, grand prix etc.) and dump a 200 shot of NOS at it. You'll roast the crap out of anything and they'll wonder how you did it. AND you'll only spend about $500 for the car and whatever for the nitrous kit.

Honestly this question isn't posed in the right area. Of course everybody on here made the decision "miata, civic, or RX7" and all of us choose RX7.
