13B Rebuild or Replace?
I have a 13B from a RX-4. The engine has been sitting for a long time. I am looking for recommendations for a reliable engine rebuilder.
Another option would be to just buy a 13B, but I want to stick with the distributor ignition and a carb fuel system (probably aftermarket manifold & Weber).
Any Ideas?????

welcome to the board.
well, if you mean buy another old school 13B, then i wouldn't hold my breath. your current intake will not fit any of the newer engines.
i would say, rebuilding your current engine is probably the best (and easiest) course of action. has the engine been "sitting a long time" in your possession, or is it something you just bought and the previous owner said it was sitting for a long time? either way, if that's your sole reason for thinking it needs to be rebuilt, it may be fine.
does it turn by hand? if so, are you hearing good sounds from it?
in the event it does need a rebuild, check out your Regional forum and see who might be a builder local to you. if not, then there are some trustworthy places you can send it in the midwest.

I think if you are looking for the best builder, send it to Chips Motorsports in Detroit.
Good news is I think your oldschool 13b could be fitted with new GSL-SE housings and then have the irons lapped and Nitrided. Depends on the condition inside.
Not sure if the early 13b's suffered from rotor housing chrome loss like the 12A's did.
