Can't comment on brands but Crutchfield has treated me like a GOD for any AV stuff I have bought for my wheels. I just swapped in speakers (Polks in my case) that fit the OEM holes, wired in the iPod and called it good...
That way its all stock- all the time

i've heard of people doing it. using a stereo plug... something like that anyway. but it requires you to modify some parts of the original stereo. the jvc i bought was only 300 and the speakers were 10.

I'm running an Alpine CDA-9856, with a 16GB IPod Nano. Runs to a Rockford Fosgate 400W 4-Channel amplifier hidden under the storage bin bracket. In the front I have Rockford 100W, 5 1/4" component speakers, and in the rear there's Rockford 50W, 6 1/2" 3-way speakers. Sounds great, nice and clear, and enough bump that I feel no need to add a subwoofer and another amp. In this case eBay was a great help, and probably saved me from spending double the cost if I had bought retail. The only thing I bought retail was the IPod.
all sony stuff for me i plan on running 2 12' sony explode's for sub's and sony explode's 6x9's and i forgot what size the front stock location is but ill be running the same..with a sony mp3 zune compatible deck..should look nice and sound nice.

I'm running a Pioneer head unit, Kicker 6" speakers in the front mounted inside, Pioneer 6x9" speakers mounted in the rear bins, a Kicker 350w sub that's hidden in the driver side bin, and a Kicker Comp VR sub in truck style box that sits in the back snuggly where the spare tire goes. I've had this setup for a year, cost was very good and it sounds amazing.

Pioneer DEH-5900IB. It's pretty much made for an Ipod and I love it.
I have always ran Infinity Kappa speakers and been pleased. There aren't any speakers in my SA right now. I have the Pioneer radio and a couple sets of Kappas waiting to go in whenever I get off my *** and do it.
