you read it right, but i really doubt its a correct number... especially worldwide.

even the CYM FD, there were 350 made, FOR THE US MARKET. the rest of the world got yellow also, but we don't have a number for it

I was actually referring to the chrome finisher at the top of the armrest/"pull to close" handle, not the inside door-release handle. ON my 80 GS, there is a chromed-plastic piece that covers up the top screw - - 79's I've seen have a vinyl pop-out plug in a plastic handle instead. The 80 GS armrest had a chrome strip along the top edge of the rest, too.

Although I've reupholstered the fabric part of my door, the handle/rest shown here is original to my 80 GS:

Better shot of the top finisher:

It is a fact that to get the black one the car did have to be a base model, but i believe even the base model could be had with the optional face plate
The 80 GS had the gray/silver (kind of a pewter color, low-gloss metallic) painted console inserts (radio surround, shift surround) and the chrome trim ring around the shift boot. Can't so speak to other builds, myself.

I replaced the original vinyl black boot with brown leather, the **** obviously isn't right - - haven't been able to find a good correct one - - and I installed the radio and gauges, and window switches, but otherwise those are the original bits from the 80 GS

yep, they are OEM. However I have a whole rack of NOS OEM bridgestones in my garage for restorations and I was able about 2 years back pick up some of the White letter ones from Florida NEW also there was another LE I knew about US spec that was still running around shod with OEM tires that one and a sister car to it were owned by a forum member. Doesn't mean the car is not true but there are too many points of inconsistancy with the pictures and parts to call it a 25K$ car

[QUOTE=rotarydude;9579807]Banzi the coloring on the pulleys is very near white just a hit of cream in it, when they age and oxidize they take on more of cream or tan coloring, A/C was about the only option available on a LE one can only guess and since the installs were done at the port or dealerships that if a car was going to canada it wasn't slated to come with A/C unless the dealer did it.

Dave, yes I realized after I posted that the reference to White and Tan/Cream pulleys were one in the same. As far as I know, mine were never a bright white, but always the tan / cream color.

Stu also said the same thing about the A/C, that it was an option at the port or dealer. I never knew that. Suppose that may account for why some hoses you see are ribbed and some not.

Glen, yes the US spec 80's had the chrome trim bits on the arm rests which the 79's did not. I'm not tyring to question this car or pick it apart, in fact it's quite nice! They are being a little un realistic about it's value in the current market. Someday maybe, but not today.

Nope Stu you gots tazed..... actually I figured you directed the "buy it" my direction since I seem to try to buy everything.

Never would hang you out Bro you're more than welcome to visit the ranch anytime although knowing your from Alaska I would recommend winter or spring when the heat and humidity is not oppressive. I look forward to having a chance to show you the shop and my little collection.

On a side note I now see that I need to pay attention to my prior posts as I repeated myself like 3 times in this thread, guess thats what I get for doing this stuff when I should be sleeping. Rx addiction is a bitch, and I am desperate for a wankel fix soo bad I was drooling on a riced out Tibiuron.

Be Honored Dave- know your place is something of a rotary mecca... same offer if you're ever in the Great Land, but not so impressive - its all in boxes (neatly organized and labeled boxes, mind)

my frist rx7, an FC, was on the original tires at 75,000miles. they were about 50% tread too, so seems likely someone put rims on it or something
