Look towards the Drivers side Shock mount.

the fuse under the dash thats a 10amp controls the tail illumination when you hit the brakes. The dash lights and the headlight motors that go downward. Whenever the fuse is blown the headlights will go up but not down. The tail lights wont light up unless you hit the brakes and the dash wont light up.

The other is the fusible links. Lets just go with number two since you checked the dash fuses.

Reviving an old thread for two reasons:

1. This should be archived, if not already. Helped me out a lot. My rear fuse blew who knows why.

2. I have an 80 sa and the fuse that blew was marked 10 amps, but when I looked at the 80 wiring diagram all the fuses are either 15 or 20 amp. So I then looked at the 79 wiring diagram and guess what, some of those fuses were labeled 10 amps.

I wonder if I had 10 amps because it was an earlier build of an 80 model or did they have a service bulletin that upped the amps later in the model year because they blew sometimes or was it a production snafu? Who will ever know. One of lifes little mysteries.
