This is kind of what I'm thinking how it works (correct me if I'm wrong):
The flash to pass only works when the headlights are down/ no lights on/ pull on the high beam stick/ it stays flashing/ pull on the high beam stick/ turns the flashing off?
all of it functions as normal changes nothing else. examples if you drive with the headlight in the up position they function as normal pull the flash to pass and the high beams flash. but if you drive with them down like most of us do pull the flash to pass it works as in the vid. but if you have it the headlights on like at night and pull them they flash on like normal so i call that a pretty good mod

This seems like it is perfect! I'm going to radioshack later on tonight. I checked online and the local store had 1 for like $1.50. Not bad for a very useful mod. Thanks bugman for the idea.

If you wanted the headlights to not go down right away, I think you would have to disconnect the 12V that is on the Red/White wire.

Since the car wants the headlights in the down position, the Up circuits are de-energized and the down circuit has 12V on it. However, since we energize the up wire, the light raises, and then detects the 12V on the retract line.

If we wanted to correct this, we would need a relay, in addition to the diode. If we used the relay to cut the down circuitry, when we toggled the up circuitry the light would then stay up until the lever was released, and then go down.

I haven't tested any of this, and I think it is possible to do with a diode and a relay, however I take no responsibility if you try this and it fries your car. The reason I stuck with just a diode was the sheer simplicity of it.

i had an afterthought and I wasn't quite sure what this would mean with the headlights actually on. Thinking about it more, it should be okay, but either way, I wouldn't go cutting wires and whatnot unless that delay really means that much to you. If you want some further assistance or direction, just ask.

im not going to do it till i get the time and actually want to go out and do it its not hurting me they way it is modded currently. and i am pretty good with wiring i just need to get the time to look through all the diagrams and play with it a little. but ive been feeling very tired lately so i probably wont be doing anything too much with it. when i get my tax returns done i have a few things to pay then im going to start playing around.

You cannot put your high beams to flash people when your lights are not up.

Well, you can, but they will just shine under your hood. With this, when you pull the lever back for the high beams to flash, the lights will pop up and have high beams on and then drop. Don't have to twist the stalk or flip the switch to pull them up first.

Down here in the south the horn is looked down upon, like if someone messes up you honk, and the polite way is flashing. Must be a southern thing

Slowly/hastily brake... I do that, but don't slam. If you get tapped in the rear you get totaled basically

People threaten you? Worst I got was someone honking and flashing the lights for like 2 miles. Downshift + Flames = Problem Solved.
