that has to be the baddest setup i have ever seen congrats on the build, we both know that the 12 a is faster then the se j/k

Everyone,

Thank you for the compliments. They make me feel all fuzzy inside This was a lot of work and fun at the same time. I learned a lot about what to do and not to do. Thank's again for the kind words.

I will now ansewer questions.

Timing: The distributor is stock, not locked. Leading is @ 10 deg BTC and trailing is @ 2deg BTC @ 6000rpm. Now at idle the lead timing is down around 0 deg.

Fuel delivery: The regulator I am using is an Aeromotive rising rate, part #13301. I paid $110 through Jegs. The fuel pump is the Aeromotive Street Rod, part #11203. I paid $160, Jegs also. The pump provides 180gph free flow, 125gph @ 8psi, and 80gph @ 18psi.

Flywheel and clutch: Both stock w/ unknown mileage. Clutch does not slip, though it does protest the hard shift into second gear now.

Horsepower: unkown my guess is 150-160 @ the rear. There is a local dyno day on the 5th of October, and I will have pictures of the sheet for you guys to see.

Motor: Not ported, currently pushing the 180,000 mile marker.

Boost: I just replaced the baseplate for the bonnet(still leaks) and I have the boost controler set to 5psi. I am honestly scared to go any higher due to the age/milage of the motor combined with the fact that this is my daily driver. Once a new daily driver is accuired, I have every intention of pushing this motor to the breaking point A sacrafice in the name of R&D.....

great write-up!
this whole project's success is a credit to you, and i think it's the perfect thing to show that DOLLARS, though they buy nice things , they are not EVERYTHING when it comes to modding your car.

the questions i have, have mostly been covered and answered. the only one i have left is if the exhaust manifold posed any problem with the steering arm. i read that there was a slight clearance problems with T2 swaps, but in the picture you provided, there seems to be plenty of space. did you have to create clearance?

I had no clearnce problems. I was lucky, flat and simple. I blindly welded the T2 manifold to the header flange and just crossed my fingers. I was not worried at all about the idler arm, more the intake manifold. The header plate, being 7/16 of inch, was litteraly perfect for the spacing on the manifold and as you pointed out plenty of room around the idler arm. A shot in the dark that paid off!!!!
