I've seen a lot of different times. (Everything from 13.5-14.0 ) Basically they run a solid 13.8 or faster. Key there is "or faster" 13.5 seems a little too fast but I wouldnt' doubt it with some incredible driver that has owned and driven the car for a few years. Just go to the track and found out... Evan

i would have though they would do sub 13's ok as my fwd car does 14.6 as std and has really bad traction!!!
managed to get that down to 13.795 with coilovers,k&n and a boost controller and would have been a bit quicker but had a knacked ***** and it was a really hot day!!i have a fiat coupe 20v turbo by the way!

I think that it is about both the driver and the car.... I dont care who it is there is the human factor in every ride as long as we still are in cars and they are controlled by humans. I do think that driver improvements while harder should be addressed first and it is cheaper

I've heard as fast at 13.0 sec for the 1320 (1/4 mile) and and 5.0 sec 0-60. That's what Mazda rated them from the factory and Import Tuner also has claimed to have made those times. I wouldnt go as far as to say that if you buy a completely stock RX-7 right now it will do that, because 99% chance is that it wont. Age, mileage, condition and a lot of other things are going to make those times a bit slower. I wouldnt expect 1/4 mile anywhere past 14.9-15.5 sec for a completely stock car in good condition as of now. Just a guess though...

Mazda rated the 1/4 mile at 13.5 seconds for an R1 model. All the magazine articles I have seen from 92 and 93 where testing was done show times of 14.0 to 14.2 on a stock 5spd touring. All I have are a downpipe and an intake, my car has 90,000 miles on the original engine and turbos, and I just ran a 13.8 my first time at the track. No way a stock 3rd gen is touching a 13.0...but a healthy running car is not going to be in the 15s either. I was trying a few different launching techniques to try to get the best time and bogged pretty bad once. It still ran mid 14s.

I think that was in Turbo magazine. If I remember right they said it ran a 13.3 and it was Kevin Wymm's car. Then they took off the stock exhaust including the cats and ran a 12.8 w/o any kind of boost control, ecu reflash, or anything else. It was one of the first articles that got me to consider modding my 7.

My mechanic had one bone stock and ran a 13.7 @ ??? mph. Take in fact that he is a very good driver (has a full race FC running 7.8) and also the shitty weather down here.

I really cant see a stock FD going sub 14secs with average driver. I was at drag competition yesterday and now have a better understanding what it means to run sub 14secs in an FD (ran 13.4 @ 106mph but at 13psi)
