"One of these days Alice!!"
Something strange occurring...
Weird **** going on with an E6k?! No kidding?!
The problem happens when the engine is warming up. I logged it (60 pages!) to be sure because I saw my wideband going rich/lean and the engine sounded/behaved different. I am getting major fuel spikes. All the values in the data log stay the same except fuel. The vacuum and timing are stable. All of a sudden you will see the fuel spike 1ms. Example... 1000rpm, 17.4 in Hg, 15 degrees for a few lines with the fuel at 2.8ms. Then for 1-4 lines it spikes to 3.8ms of fuel. After, it drops again to the normal. It repeats this randomly but frequently. No other value changes. Temps remains stable, range and bar remains stable, battery volts, whatever... everything but the fuel.
No problems starting cold or hot. No problems driving (I drove for 3 hours today all over the place, city, town, highway, boosting merrily).
This setup has been in the car since I bought it 5 years ago.
Recently my idle control went to ****... I'm thinking the computer is on the fritz but it could be major electrical gremlins otherwise.

i am beginning to believe haltech are ****. ive seen too many unexplainable bugs like this. never on an e6k though
if it werent for your pw data i would suspect the fuel pressure regulator. can you post your logs?
i have a similar problem when warming up, it will go full lean when trying to cruise. like pegging the wb lean to 16-17 AFR range, where normally it would be 12-13 AFR when warmed up and in open loop

The pressure wouldn't alter the fuel pulse width itself though. At first before logging I thought it was the regulator as well, but it's nice and steady. I sat there watching with the laptop next to me. I even thought it could be a bad sensor sending the wrong feedback to the computer, but the temps for air and coolant are steady. I'll post a snap shot tonight from the log.
This is more of a rant than anything. What can I do at this point? Let us pray to the rotary gods it doesn't decide to take away 1ms of fuel when I'm at 7000RPM and 15psi...
In other news my BAC valve is alive again. I really don't know what to think.

You're obviously right that its an ECU related issue. I would suspect a sensor or wiring as well. The E6 logs at a pretty slow rate, so things can happen between the bits of a log. I would think though, that with a long enough log, you would see an issue. It can be a PITA but try zeroing coolant and air temp and seeing if the issue still crops up. TPS is the other variable. You unplug it while idling to see if the issue goes away.
Just because the doesn't go away while you try these things doesn't mean the wiring is not at fault. An intermittent open in any of the sensors would cause this issue.
In the end it could be an issue with the board.

If not.. Waiting for my turbo to come back from BNR. In a few weeks everything is getting torn down and while it's all apart, I'm going to redo some wiring. My car has always had some strange electrical gremlins, this could be one of them. One recent thing is when I switch the key to ON, the key chime still beeps for a few seconds. It's not supposed to do that, so who knows what else is lurking.

That was it!! However, I do need a 0 dead band. I get a massive hesitation if I move it up even 1%. I was never able to fully tune it out using the fuel maps. Even for that tiny 1% my engine WANTS the throttle pump. It's not an issue though, I re-zero's the TPS and now all is merry.
Thanks
