since it will not pass most new emissions I would say 2k. Most people do not like all the modded stuff on it.
And how did you come up with 175 - 180 hp?

hotty sorry to disappoint you but usually when you mod a car the value goes down to the average buyer but goes up for the enthusiasts. So, your best bet is to try and sell it to someone looking for a 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE. It being a SE is a bonus. I would try posting it for "$3500-$5o00(us) obo".

Arrow It is safe to say, at least for now....

That you will never get anything near what your Rex is worth to you. So, yeah. Keep it and find some other way of raising the $ for school. Heck, at least if you keep it you can get a job delivering Pizza.

Most of the things you mentioned are normal maintenace Items... The stereo wont bring ****, actually to be truthful Id rather buy a car w/o a stereo or the facotry one (not saying yours is, but aftermarket stereos scare me, very few people know how to wire one properly and I hate chopped up wiring)

Basically aside from Blue Book value, you will only get what someone will pay you, and even tho a -se is a rarer than other FB/SA's, its still not a collectors item..

Whoever offered you 15k was smoking some serious crack. You should have taken that and walked away laughing.

In my opinion you're looking way too high for a car with 275k on it. You only have some mild mods (180hp... you sure about that?) and the maintenance stuff doesn't exactly qualify as redeemable money.

ok, then whats your guess.. i guessed:
k+n 5-10hp
header + exh. 25-30hp
Racing sleeves 5-10hp

so add.. maybe I am high.... big deal at least i dont got a NOS sticker like a HONDUH RICER.....

I don't know... I just asked if you were sure about that. Anyways, you can't just add up guesstimated mods to arrive at a horsepower result. I don't know **** about SE's, but from what I've heard the stock intake system limits power to less than what you're talking about. I believe the AFM is the big restriction, but I could be wrong. You'd have to ask the expert SE guys.

I think you should call back that guy who offered you 15k!!

ya, well soon i will advertise locally.. i will let it go if the coin is appropriate in my view.. otherwise... i got other plans..... thanx anyway, i didnt mean to sound harsh, its just when someone who loves these cars says its worth ****.. then u get a little mad.... anyway.. reasoning with potential buyers I will explain my situation, and also state that it can beat a stock 86 5.0L (fox body) and outhandle damn near everything on the road... and many REX's I know can go much past 275k unlike most boingers.. Diesel's are the exception...

Stay in or get out of your car but never look back. For me I never should have sold my second RX and I have yet to buy an SE. I am a Rex addict and will be for life. You sound like you want out for the cash but if you want the most you can get out of your car I wouldn't say much about your situation. It just shows desperation and that will also effect how much you will be offered. the only good thing telling buyers about your personal finances could do to your benifit is help convince them that your car isn't a lemon and that you want rid of it for different reasons. the thing with First gen Rex's is that they are under valued very fun real sports cars with loads of potential at discount prices. even when it is compleatly restored my car wont be worth more than a few grand tops, but to me it it's worth a million bucks it's my baby and my project. Hope things go better for you soon. Try to get some perspective on long run planing and think about what needs to change to do the things that you want to do. then work to make them happen.
