whats with my oil pressure
whats with my oil pressure
ok I just changed the oil in my car and for some reason the oil pressure gauge will come close to maxing out at anything above 3000 rpms
at 2000 it will stay near 60 psi usually just right at or a tad below at 2000 rpms also it is slower to come down now that I changed the oil
this is the first time it did this in the two years I owned the car.
once I had it go past the 110 marking on the gague by prolly a 1/8 inch or so
I am using 10w-30 oil right now
was using 20w-50
also using a fram oil filter
the oil is a little high right now though
I think it is at the top of the F on the dipstick and that is the only thing I am thinking of as to why the pressure reads so high
is there any harm that could come from the oil pressure reading so high and any ideas as to what is causing this and how to fix it?

well it does get hot here I admit that... well hotter then normal
I have used 10w-30 most the time I owned the car as well as the previous owner with no problems in . I went to 20w-50 just out of curiousity and I honestly think I am going to switch back on the new oil change.
fram well I heard they are not like what they used to be but I needed to get the oil changed bad and fram was only thing there and was cheap enough for me with my unemployed *** to get.
what oil filter would you say I should get for my car?
it is still drivable I just keep the revs down so the oil pressure doesn´t go up

Verify oil pressure with a mechanical guage. The stock sender and guage is not that great. Also, use a thicker oil. The rotary heats up (and thus thins) oil much more than a piston engine.
