my NA tII project
Well,
My buddy kevin(tubby) picked up a NA gxl w/ 55k original miles, bone stock bought it from the orginal owner, who said the car was too fast for him LOL. It sat from 2006. Interiors mint!! w/ back seat and no sunroof. He found the listing on CL and we went to take a look after a test drive I found it needed just basic stuff exhaust, brakes, and a few other odds and ends. Drove it a half hour back home with no problems put some gas in and went drove great.
So now the car sits until he can gets it registered. I was gonna pull it apart fix a leaking PD. I told him about removing the rats nest and removing everything to clean up the bay and simplify.
So while going thru my garage looking for stuff I noticed all of the parts that I no longer use or need. Its a whole tII swap minus turbo and manifold, and tII LIM.
I make the suggestion and he bites lol
Heres my project
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/goopy-street-motor-build-r-d-938383/
My other buddy Kevin has a similar project to mine but a level higher lol. Anyway I know he has my old LIM and a hybrid turbo, manifold, and DP sitting on the shelf for years with no need for it. I sent him a text and hes willing to part with it!!!
The turbo has a broken wastgate flap or arm he was telling me about, but other wise in good condition. Im going to contact Brian at BNR to see if he can fix it and look over the turbo.
So I'm goin to pick it up tomorrow and order some block of plates for the manifolds. I alread have a ported and modded TB, UIM, and elbow.
Im going to be running S4 tII ecu modded w/ rtek. 2.1.
stock 550cc tII primary injectores and 1000cc low imp secondaries and a walbro255
Ill be modding the tII LIM as per aaron cakes website.
http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/4PortLIMTo6Port.htm
Also throwing around the idea of some water to reduce temps and detonation. I figure like 10lbs would be ideal.
let me know what you guys think.
James

Today we should be picking up the hybrid turbo, manifold and DP.
Still in need of a S4 tII LIM
Purchased block off plates for all the emissions from 2751Engineering
grabbed my UIM Assembly and pulled off all the useless **** gonna clean everything real nice get it ready to be swapped on.
Also grabbed my fuel rails. Modded the secondary to fit my 1000cc low imp american injectors
just need to clean everything up.

Well boys we got a better deal then I thought...
Under the impression were picking up a stock manifold and stock hybrid turbo..
Its basically a full HKS to4E kit, came with turbo w/ stock wastegate actuator, the wastegate flaps are missing, the coolant line to the LIM is gone. It also came with a HKS cast manifold and a small aftremarket DP.
Got it all for 375, gonna send it to Brian at BNR for a one over and flap repair, maybe some gate porting and upgraded actuator..
needs a bit of cleaning but its one hell of a deal.

Got some more done, oil pans clean and ready for modding and paint.
I see aaron cake used the rear side of the oil pan for his turbo drain, is it possibly to run it to the front? Is there a reason for running it to the back verse the front?
Ill be getting an oil filter sandwich adaptor for feed and the coolant from unused nipples behind the waterpump and on the rear iron..

Soo,
I finally got in contact with Brian at BNR and he tells me its too much work, theres not enough in it for him, and he wanted nothing to do with it..
I emailed 2 days ago and call yesterday leaving a detailed message in the morning and heard nothing back from him. So, I figure ill give it another try to contact him he answers and i told him I had emailed and called he didnt pay any attention to that..
I tell him the situation and tell him Ill send him some more detailed pictures...
He says "yah know I think I saw the pictures, I cant help. "
Soo I really couldnt believe his attitube, being last time I dealt with him he was very nice and helpful..
I need to find someone to do this relativly simple job.. Any suggestions??

So Tubby was smelling gas my first thought it was the PD but came find the smell was coming from the pump lid.
The middle men of this car for some reason, removed the lid and in exchange for the rotted stripped screws they replaced them with ones easily twices as long not even allowing the lid to be closed.
Removed them and the pump assembly cleaned the mating surface and gasket. sealed it all up with proper sized screws. and no gas smell since..

heres the LIM sanded and ready for porting..
thinkng of getting a tII front cover for oil drain. I kno aaron cake hasnt had any issues, but after speaking to goopy he kinda swayed me more towards the cover..
Located the correct 550 injectors to be sent to KGparts.
