i have an 88 gtu with only a few mods. every time i go to drive my 7 i turn it on and it does the cold start warm up and then only would come down to around 2000 and that is how it would stay, high and pulsating between 1900 and 2300 up and down up and down every time i would push the clutch in as i drove around town. i read in my shop book for the rx7 that you could adjust the idle speed with the fast idle cam screw on the fire wall side of the throttle body. doing so i got the idle to come down to around 1000 but every time i give it a little gas it still pulsates no matter how high the rpms and after i hit the 3500 area when the secondaries kick on it starts studdering the rest of the way through the rmps. any help would be greatly appreciated

 

You must have a bad or stuck Bypass Air Control Valve
TPS issues
Vacuum leak somewhere?
Try picking up some starter fluid and spraying it all around your intake, above and under the manifolds and anywhere you think there can be an intake leak.
