1990 RX7 Water in driver's side floor.

Hello,

I just bought an RX7 and really like it. I turned it on today and noticed water is leaking onto the driver's side floor and also under the oil pan underneath the car.

Did this ever happen to anybody else? I'm guessing it's the heater hose or some other hose, but couldn't really see anything from under the car.

Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the 2nd post, but now that I looked at it more, it's not water it's anti-freeze.

It's leaking from the right of the gas pedal.

The only source of coolant inside the car is the heater core. It's directly behind the head-unit but it is only accessible by removing the dash. Check the coolant hose to pipe connection above the oil filter on the fire wall. Maybe the clamp isn't tight and the coolant is following the pipe to the inside of the vehicle. That would also explain why it's dripping by the oil pan/ starter area under the car.

Mine did that too, and it was the heater core. The hose that goes through the firewall tends to deteriorate over time and start leaking.

there is no hose going through the firewall fellas, there are aluminum and brass pipes going through the firewall into the engine bay where the rubber hoses connect and clamp to from inside the engine bay. You can possibly have a crack in the pipes or just a bad heater core. I have never had any of these problems on any of the rx7's in my life, someone must have messed with it.
