I see you have converted to a throttle cable and you do not have the Variable Fresh Air Duct. Can you explain how you are controlling the secondary ports, aux ports, and VDI?

I see now you have said that will make the effort to gte a vid up of the car & engine in action! Ha yer they were on there when i brought her but long gone now.

Yer lost the fly by wire throttle for obvious reasons, Variable Fresh Air Duct what & where would that be? As for the rest of your questions my knowlege is limited for now as im learning but know we are gonna be getting a shift light & modifing it to operate some of the ports to operate when needed but i'll ask my friend for a more detailed answer.

Ok, so on a stock Rx-8 we have the Sequential Dynamic Air Intake System (S-DAIS). It's like a modified version of the S5 n/a system. The TB is drive-by-wire and has only one butterfly (instead of 3 like the s5). First, only the primary parts are opened because all these other valves are shut. Then the secondary ports open (Secondary Shutter Valve) using a vacuum solenoid . Then the auxiliary ports open (using a motor) and the variable fresh air duct open (vacuum signal is blocked and duct opens). The VFAD shortens the length of the intake pipe before the throttlebody. Finally the VDI valve opens using vacuum, just like the Secondary Shutter Valve, and you are basically shortening the intake runners and possibly using that little plenum which appears to be built into the LIM.

So the question is, how were these systems implemented and controlled on your car? I can see that the variable fresh air duct was deleted. But you still have a couple other systems:

So on the top there is the Rx-8 LIM with the aux port sleeves still installed. You can see the little "mini plenum" cast into the middle there. Then below the manifold and to the left is the VDI valve. In the middle is the Secondary Shutter Valve. On the right is the auxiliary port valve motor.

Did you control all that with the Motec? At what RPMS are they activating? I am especially curious about the aux ports, because they are controlled by a motor from the factory.

That's one tiny lil e-fan! How'd you go about mounting it? I'm guessing you moved it all a bit back from stock to get the shifter mounted in the right area?

car looks like garbage with an unpainted body kit(any car does)

but nice job to whoever swapped the motor...except for the part about the ports not working properly yet.

also you need 1 more cooling fan on that radiator..haha

I have an 88 GTX that I want to do a Renesis swap on. I want the revs, and the extra 100 hp that the engine brings. I am a Mazda Tech at a local dealer and have thought about this for a rather long time. Lemme know about the swap kit itself. It's awesome to see it actaully done. Also, if you have any questions abou tthe engine.. I'll try my best to hlep. PM me, or hit me up. Later.

Im running a non power steering rack but to honest apart from the occasional parking i prefer it, the power rack was far to light & i sometimes found it hard to gauge where the wheels were but the non paower rack is lovely!

Nice work, man. Car looks really good.

I see you smoked those amber euro fender lights......those are rare as hell here.

I would want them ***** standing out.

What offset wheels are those? Seem kinda high, but look good matched.

Surprised a lot of people producing that renesis.
