hello from new zealand

hey everyone

Im thinking about joining the leagues of legendary people who own a rotary and im looking at buying a 1988 jap spec convertible turbo, with a 5 speed conversion done to it.

its soo bad ***, and only thing at the moment is that i dont know much about faults to look for when buying a rotary powered car, so here i am learning it up.

does anyone know the weight of a stock cabriolet? its easy to find the 1100ish kgs for normal rx7 but no convertible info!!!

heres the car im looking at getting

Dang, clean man, clean. Unfortunately man I'm also new to the whole rotary thing. Although I would just say check the usual. Check the engine to see if there is any leaks, start it up to see how it idles, take a little test drive to see if it overheats. Plus take a good look at the tires.... on most good vehicles you can tell how someone treats their car by looking at just their tires.... at least from what I've been told hehe. And welcome to the club man

Very nice convertible there. We in North America are not fortunate enough to get a turbo cabriolet here- we have to convert them ourselves. Color me jealous! I live near Dunedin as well- Dunedin, Florida that is.

My car looks very much like yours, but with stock wheels. (BBS meshies).

Awesome find, and enjoy it!
