I am working on Saturday, but will be coming up on Sunday. Joe will hopefully be along as well. I still have some questions about the swap. Are we using the original motor's intake (ie manifold and carb) and if so, do you already have the gaskets for the switching that. and an exhaust manifold gasket is also a given. Just checking.

Catch ya later,
James

PS. Will need directions and phone number as the days grow closer. Shoot me a pm. Bye

Actually you need a whole change over set, but the bare neccessities would be intake and exhaust... Unless the motor is complete with the water pump and everything on the motor..

The international barbecue festival is here this weekend, and that rules me out. Too bad you werent in Evanville and not indy... Thats quite a haul for me..

By the way, this other motor is it a manual or auto? Just trying to determine if air power and a 3/4" impact is needed..

He means the Giant Flywheel Nut. It is very difficult to remove without the proper tools. I believe its 25MM, but I can't recall right now without looking it up.

Since you have an Automatic right now, and the other engine is a Manual, you will have to swap the flywheels and/or counterweights to make it balance properly. (I don't recall if they 12A flywheels had the counterweight "built in" or if it was removable.

Im referring to that big *** 54mm nut holding the flywheel on that manual 12A. Im not sure either if the automatics flexplate bolts to the counerweight or not, if its like this cosmo then you got 1 more 54mm to take off. But I can assure you, if its got the nut. You got 2 of them to take off. And question 2 is DO you have an engine lift? I can bring the 54mm socket and 3/4 impact, and I have a lift here, but someone better have a truck. Now the air compressor is a different story...W/o the proper tools we will be pissing in the wind for a little while....

if you wanna remove the rests nest, just go to Auto Zone, in the "Help" section, and get a couple different sizes of vaccum caps. I'll bring a couple extras I have on Sunday.
