So at the autocross on Sunday the Deuce and I finally clicked. I was hauling some serious *** and finished very close to the top 10 in a very tough field. Then the clutch slave cylinder decided to take a crap on me. I had to scratch my last run. One that I felt I would have cleaned house on and put me very close to the top 5. I ran down a new slave got it in and we blead it out so there is no air in the line. Still having clutch problems. Dammit. So the next step is the clutch master cylinder. Digging around it looks like I might have a match to an early 80's B2200 pickup, but I am going to ask here, does anyone have a good place to go for a NEW master? I found a rebuild kit for about 12.00 plus shipping, but I would rather replace the whole thing.

Just upgrade to a first gen slave and master so you dont have to worry about this again. And get the steel braided line too. I did this to my duece and it works perfect. With the new first gen master you will need to remove both screw in studs, then drill out the bottom hole in the master so that you can put a bolt thru and screw into the firewall nut. Then you just get a longer bolt that goes from the inside of the car thru the firewall and into the threaded upper hole. That's it. It takes 10 minutes to convert this over.

 

Ok, so I found a rebuild kit for the master cylinder for 14 bucks locally. www.rockauto.com came through with the part number for me. That made it really easy to find it locally. Pretty easy to do. A friend of mine had a hone for it, went back together really nice. Now the clutch feels better then it ever did. I'm thinking I am going to pick up another kit for it just in case. Turns out its the same rebuild kit for an early 80 B2200 pick up and the Ford Courior. Might even be the same master cylinder.
