ha ha. (laughing at replies.)

It seems to me that this question is a classic, and it has been discussed many times.
Note that theres a difference in hp, whether it be from E-shaft, crank (piston engine term), flywheel.
Or.
Rear Wheel hp. rwhp for short.

There are many threads that discuss your question.
There is a search function at the top of the page.

And welcome to da club.

13B bridgeport using series 4 irons will land you 200 to 240rwhp with a carburator.. 13B peripheral port with series 5 internals will land you 240 to 275rwhp with a down draft webber. and a series 6 engine with a bridgeport and partial peripheral port with electronic fuel injection will land you 300 to 340rwhp.. atleast thats what a landed me..

^^ I believe he means Fd motor... S4/S5= FC Nobody calls the Fd a S6, but its a good way to classify the motor

Lots of people call the FD engine "Series 6" especially in countries where they got the Series 7 and Series 8 cars/engines.

I was going to go with S6 plates for my REPU motor, but decided against it. I dont remember why but I think it was the oil pan bolts, I didnt want to deal with any possible leaks. I am lazy when it comes to my own stuff I guess

The plates are stronger, more meat around dowel pins and bigger ports than S4/S5. There is some advantage.

For a cheap approach to just over 200RWHP, you could always take a page from Paul Yaw's book:
http://www.yawpower.com/sep2004.html

I do have to wonder about the noise level (and fuel economy) of running a full-race exhaust port, even on mild intake ports!

If you browse Pauls web page and find the 13B race exhaust ports, thats almost exactly what I have in my REPU. My intake is a large street port using turboII plates. For exhaust I run a Racing Beat header into a straight pipe with a Magnaflow straight through 33" long muffler, I think I have 2.5" diameter.

That thing can sing! At idle its pretty loud but not totally unbearable. Anything above idle while accelerating up to about 4k rpm is so loud your ears will bleed. After about 4000 rpm it just quiets down again to something actually quite reasonable. Honestly I doubt it will be long before I have a noise ticket under my belt. Fuel economy is about the same, maybe even better than when I was running a stock 6 port motor. But now I have it tuned alot better than before as well. The Weber carb is getting me around 15mpg I think, will check this weekend when I have a bit longer drive. I would love to hit 20mpg highway once I get the carb jetted just right but that might be a bit optimistic.

Those exhaust ports are soo big that it's almost disturbing..........for a street oriented engine

It runs so nicely! The idle has a slight lope to it and it feels like it just wants to pull. I have been breaking it in and havent yet been able to really get on it. But up to 5000 rpm and about half throttle it really wants to scoot.

After this weekend club drive I will have another 150 miles or so, just about ready to go for the upper rpm range. Its pretty much all tuned now except for the air corrector jets.

Then the dyno in another month or 2...

Indeed the sleeves were removed. They have been replaced with the Yaw / AZ Rotary Rockets sleeve. Has a nice radius for exhaust flow into the header.

Just got back from the dyno. The n/a FD put down 217.5 whp and 156 ft/lb on a mustang. So its definitely possible.

Thanks for the info

Do they sell the sleeves to the public?
