Anyone know anything about a Go-Kart League?

Hey guys,

I have been told that in the past, there have been leagues for go-kart racing (I think in Hamilton) where you pay one sum of money (I think it used to be $300) for the season, which included track time, kart "rental", tires and fuel.

You didn't have to have your own kart. One would be provided for you and you would use the same one the entire season.

I believe these were pretty fast karts too. Not shifter karts, but one step below perhaps?

Does anyone have any details about this?
Contact info?
And if this does in fact still exist, is anyone else interested in getting involved?

Cheers

I was in the rookie series last year at Cameron. You pick a schedule and race every 2 weeks. It was $50 a race, rain or shine. This includes practice, qualifying, and the final race. You don't get your own kart, they are lined up and you hop in. They try to keep them the same but there are better karts then others.

You will need a neck brace. Helmuts are provided. You'll need to be fully clothed.

Also as a member you are entitled to a practice rate of $50 for 2 hours I think it was last year.

I started late, but it was fun and a neat driving learning experience. I'm a heavy dude and couldn't be competitive, even in my "weight class", so it got kind of old never being able to do very well.

I recommend it. They often have deals for new members, or members bringing in new members. Give it a go!

If your're looking for seat time then it's not that great of a deal. You're put in groups and are waiting more often than you are actually on track.

$200 membership + $50 each time. Your're better off doing dip's track days.
