Thumbs up $500 1991 Gxl

Just thought Id post my recent successful find... picked up a "non-running" 1991 GXL for 500 bucks to part out and use some of the parts... Only thing wrong with it was it was flooded out because the BAC valve hose was unhooked so it wouldnt start. Me and Chrisw80 de-flooded it and it runs like a champ... came with some Eagle all oy wheels a nice strut tower brace and a leather MOMO steering wheel...Car is red with perfect black interior and a flawless set of S5 tails... all for 500 dollars. has a little body damage here and there but are small dents and very bondo-able. After I get my S5 t2 running I will probably sell it... just wanted to post my find... hope others are lucky like this and happy hunting.

thanks...

So I guess I got a base model then... the only bad thing about the car is it has some retarded "pop-up" sunroof that leaks like a sieve... is there any sort of rubber or plastic conditioner to lubricate the sealing surface with to prevent so much drippage from coming through?

Wait, wait, wait....

Are you sure it is a 1991? All 1991 models had a factory sunroof. Unless somebody replaced the factory one with a cheapie pop up, but that sounds like more trouble than its worth.

And there wasn't just TII, vert, and base. There were A and B option packages for the NA. I had a crazy one. ALL options except leather. It even had an LSD rear end (which Mazda said was never made for NA's that year), tag and all.

PICS!!!!

It is def a 91... must have been low grade option... has the small brakes not the 4 pot brakes... I have 2 other fc's and they are both the 4 pot brakes ... this one did have all power options though... windows and door locks anyways. I know this is a noob question... but how do I post pics?

if you have a photobucket account, upload them there, then copy and paste the IMG(image) code into here and post Quick Reply. If you don't have a photobucket account, get one. It's free, you can upload as many pics as you could ever want, and it's super useful.
